The State Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Remilekun Oluwatobi Banigbe, disclosed this today during an interaction with newsmen at the Ministry’s headquarters.

According to her, “the present administration under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has invested heavily in achieving a clean and hygienic environment that will be habitable to Kwarans.

“Consequently, it is mandatory for every citizen to patronise commercial waste Collectors for proper disposal to the final dumping site.

“The commissioner emphasised that indiscriminate dumping of garbage will cause havoc to the society and also increase government spending.

She, therefore, warned that, henceforth, anybody caught dumping on the road median or inside the drainage will be prosecuted in line with the State Environmental law.

Mrs Banigbe also implored Commercial Waste Managers to always discharge their responsibilities in line with the agreement signed with the government for effective and efficient waste disposal in the state.
