The Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) has planned to train and empower a total of 60,000 skilled and unskilled youths in kwara for five years.
The commission is also planning to provide alternative source of energy, solar power to the residents of riverine communities affected by flood in Kwara communities.
The Consultant of Stakeholders Forum on Proposed HYPPADEC Medium Term Strategic Plan for Kwara from 2022 to 2027, Sam Juwl made the disclosure at its stakeholders forum held in Ilorin.
Speaking with Sobi FM Chairman of HYPPADEC Governing Council, Barrister Terfa Ityav listed ten areas that the commission will be focused on, which includes education, health, water, Agric energy, housing and others.
Also speaking, the MD of HYPPADEC, Abubakar Sodiq affirmed that the commission has provided necessary support to many communities in Kwara state.
The Emir of Ilorin Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who was represented by Alhaji Umar Kayode Sididq, Alangua Owode and the Secretary of Alangua Forum appreciated the federal government for the introduction of HYPPADEC.
