In a move to restore uninterrupted electricity supply in Sobi communities and its environs, the Kwara State Government has approved the relocation of a 15MVA, 33/11KV power transformer from Budo-Esho to the Sobi Sub-Injection Station in Ilorin.
The announcement was made today by the Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy, in a statement issued from his office and a copy made available to Sobi FM.
Engr. AbdulGaniy stated that the State Government approved the transfer of one 15MVA, 33/11KV power transformer to replace the existing 7.5MVA, 33/11KV transformer at the Sobi Substation.
This initiative he said is aimed at enhancing the living standards and socioeconomic development of the residents in the affected areas.
The commissioner said the new transformer will cater to the electricity needs of Sobi Barracks, Gambari, Okelele, Sefura, Kankatu, Alagbado, Sobi Mountain, and the surrounding areas.
Engr. AbdulGaniy expressed his gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his continuous efforts in ensuring stable power supply to citizens.
He also commended the Management of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) for their support and provision of the facility.
