The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission has declared the All Progressives Congress winner of the state council elections held yesterday, clinching all chairmanship positions across the 16 Local Government Areas and winning all 193 councillorship seats.
This announcement was made during a press briefing by the KWASIEC Chairman Okanla Baba following the collation and verification of results from polling units, wards, and Local Government Areas.
The electoral commission commended the professionalism and dedication of journalists and election observers who ensured transparency in the electoral process.
The commission also lauded the people of Kwara State for turning out en masse to exercise their civic rights, emphasizing that the elections were conducted peacefully without any major incidents.
Additionally, security agencies were praised for maintaining peace and order throughout the exercise.
The electoral process witnessed the participation of five political parties, including APC, APM, PDP, SDP, and the Accord Party.
