The Director General National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), National Assembly, Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, has rejoiced with Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this year’s Mawlid Nabiy.
He stated this in a statement issued on Sunday by his Media Adviser, Mohammad Abdulkadri and copies made available to newsmen in Abuja.
Abubakar described Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a perfect example for humanity who bequeathed legacies of piety, patience, peace and perseverance which underscores the very essence of celebrating his birthday.
The former minister of planning also described Prophet Muhammad as an embodiment of virtues and enjoined Nigerians to embrace peaceful co-existence, good neighbourliness, religious tolerance and to promote societal peace towards ending terrorism, banditry and other challenges associated with insecurity bedeviling the country.
He emphasised the need to embrace good character of Prophet Muhammad such as generosity, simplicity and humility as guides to all believers towards correcting the ills in the society.
“Towards building a virile society, Nigerians need to imbibe the culture of selfless service, patriotism and to shun vices capable of undermining national integrity among comity of Nations”, he added.
While urging muslims to be good ambassadors of Islam in all their undertakings Sulaiman called on Muslims to pray for the country at times.
