The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Isah Jere Idris, has reacted to a fake NIS recruitment scam site and link posted on social media by fraudsters with the intention of defrauding innocent and unsuspecting Nigerians of their hard earned money.
According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Service DCI Amos Okpu, made available to newsmen today in Abuja, he said the Service is currently not conducting any recruitment exercise.
He restated that the NIS will always publish and announce its official recruitment and notifications through credible Nigerian dailies and media platforms for the attention of the general public.
According to him, “the Comptroller General restates that the Service has always used all the conventional as well as its verified social media platforms including the website to announce any recruitment exercise, adding that in such exercises, members of the public are never required to make any payments whatsoever,” he said.
