The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, yesterday, presented a giant trophy, he donated, to the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tuesday Assayamo, at a colourful ceremony at the State Command headquarters, Ilorin, for the forthcoming Commissioner Police Female Under-17 football competition.
The trophy was donated, for the final of this year’s edition of the Commissioner of Police Football Competition, at a colourful ceremony, witnessed by the top hierarchies of the Command, and members of the Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, led by its Chairman, Prince Ajide Olayioye, accompanied others.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sobi FM’s Sports Crew, after the event, Chief Agu-Ejidike said the gesture is part of the Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports’ commitment to grassroots Sports development, which cuts across the length and breadth of the country.
He equally promised the CP, more in terms of the partnership that will further deepen the involvement of the Force in sports development, that will take the attention of the youths, away from crime and channel such to more productive ventures that will be beneficial to them, their families, and the society at large.
The final of the competition comes up on Tuesday, the 30th of August 2022, at the Kwara Football Academy training pitch, inside the Kwara State Stadium Ilorin, with the kick-off scheduled to be 3 pm.
