The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).
This was disclosed during a courtesy visit by the President of CIPM, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, to the Director General of NILDS, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, at his office in Abuja.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Sulaiman expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved since the partnership was formalized on September 18, 2023.
He emphasized NILDS’ dedication to ensuring the objectives of the collaboration are met, particularly in promoting legislative capacity building and good governance through professional development.
The NILDS DG reiterated the importance of sustained collaboration between the two institutions, stressing that effective human resource management is critical to enhancing legislative processes and governance in Nigeria.
“This partnership is a key step towards strengthening our legislative processes, and we are committed to achieving our shared goals,” Professor Sulaiman said.
In his remarks, Mallam Gobir lauded the efforts of NILDS under Professor Sulaiman’s leadership, noting that the collaboration has already yielded significant results.
He expressed CIPM’s readiness to continue supporting NILDS in building institutional capacity through strategic human resource management.
The visit served as an opportunity for both organizations to review the progress made in the first year of their partnership and to chart a course for further cooperation in the future.
The partnership between NILDS and CIPM aims to enhance human resource management practices in legislative bodies, contributing to better governance and more efficient legislative processes.
