The Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of Government Girls Day Secondary School (GGDSS), Pakata, Ilorin, has urged the public to disregard rumors circulating on social media alleging that students are involved in secret societies or immoral conduct.
In a communique issued after a thorough investigation by the PTA, chaired by Barrister Abdullateef Lanre Adi, in collaboration with the school management and key stakeholders, the PTA emphasized that these allegations are unfounded and aimed at tarnishing the school’s reputation.
The communique highlighted that the school’s management and staff are dedicated to educating, counseling, and instilling good morals in students, with zero tolerance for indiscipline and unethical behavior.
It affirmed that there is no truth to the rumors and described the claims as baseless, malicious, and slanderous.
The investigation confirmed that no student at GGDSS Pakata is involved in any unregistered society, and the communique stressed that the students are in good health, free from any spiritual possession.
The PTA expressed satisfaction with the commitment of the school’s management and staff in maintaining discipline and ensuring a decent and orderly environment within the school.
Additionally, the communique acknowledged the mutual understanding and cooperation between the management, staff, and PTA in their collective efforts to maintain a peaceful and conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
The PTA urged parents and guardians to instill sound morals in their children and protect them from negative influences.
It also expressed appreciation for Governor Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Razaq’s administration, through the State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development and the State Teaching Service Commission, for their efforts in transforming the education sector in Kwara State.
