Normalcy has returned to Mandate Ultra Modern Market, Adewole in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State after clash between Hausa and men of the Nigerian Police force, leaving one person dead while several people injured.

The crisis according to one of the executives in the market who spoke on condition of anonymity said some shops were burgled by hoodlums inside the market, which led to the arrest of some suspects.

This action however did not go down well with their people who called for their freedom, and when they were not released they started destroying the market.

Our Correspondent, who was at the scene of the crises reports that a group of Hausas however engaged in a fight with the security agencies, who came to calm the situation.

The mayhem led to the destruction of goods worth millions of naira in the market while the windscreen of several vehicles were destroyed by the hoodlums.

Meanwhile, the Kwara State Government has shutdown the mandate market Ilorin following the crisis that rocked the market today.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties Abdul-Razhaq Jiddah made the statement today while speaking in an interview with Sobi FM.

He said the closure was was to maintain peace and order and also prevent crises in the state.
