The Kwara state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 2 suspects and recovered arms and other dangerous weapons in their possession.

Parading the suspects the command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Olasunkanmi Ayeni, said the suspects were arrested at a location close to a gold mining site at Agbede village in Moro local government area of the state.

According to him, the suspects one Abdulahi Alhaji, 19, and 39-year-old John Ihenka, are capable of using the arms in their possession to perpetrate different kinds of crimes in society.

Mr Ayeni explained that the prime suspect Alhaji was arrested while trying to get a cartridge for the locally made pistol he bought for N8,000 naira.

He said the command is taking a proactive measures to ensure that the security challenges in the neighbouring state do not infiltrate to the state.

Ayeni however appealed to the general public to volunteer information to the security agencies to enable them to prevent crime.
