The Campaign Council of the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) candidate for Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Abdulganiyu Saka Cook Olododo has reacted to the judgement of the Federal High Court, dismissing the suit filed by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) against him for lacking in merit.

The Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin and presided over by Hon.Justice I. M. Sanni on Friday 30th December, 2022 dismissed the suit filed by the All Progressives Congress {APC} against Olododo, SDP and the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for the failure of the Plaintiff to prove that the acceptance of the 1st Defendant {Hon. Olododo} from the 2nd Defendant {SDP} by the 3rd Defendant {INEC} was in violation of the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022 and/or the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999{as  amended}.

It will be recalled that the APC had on 7th July, 2022 filed a suit seeking disqualification of the incumbent House of Representatives member of Ilorin East/South from seeking reelection under the SDP.

Olododo in a statement issued by his campaign spokesperson, Ibrahim Sheriff said “The APC in Kwara is a sinking party, that is in tune with the reality of their own failure come 2023 but trying to thwart the will of the people through back-door. However, the judiciary has secured the people’s mandate by this judgement.

“Although we are confident the APC embarked on a futile journey from onset, today’s victory is for the people and a reflection of what is to come in 2023, when the good people of Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency will reecho their resolve to sustain the quality and responsive representation Olododo has offered in the last three and half years of his sojourn at the green chamber”, the statement added.

Olododo Campaign Council therefore enjoined the people of Ilorin East/South in particular and Kwarans in general to weaponize themselves with their permanent voters’ card (PVC) and go ahead to vote all SDP candidates come 2023, for quality representation, inclusive governance and sustainable development.
