A Court of Appeal sitting in Ilorin has declared 26 year old Rukayat Shittu has the legitimate candidate for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Owode Onire state constituency for the Kwara State House of Assembly.

The Court of in a ruling today threw out the case of her challenger, Ayinde Alajere for lacking in merit.

In her reaction to the ruling, Rukayat noted that, there’s no winner or loser in the matter, all APC members are the same family.

She thereafter charged supporters and members of the party to put their hands together on the desk and work together to deliver APC In the 2023 general election, while she appreciated the support of all.

Rukayat, who is the first female senate president at the Congress of National Open University of Nigeria Students won the APC primary election for Owode Onire to represent the constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly.

According to her, I consider my opponent as a father and see everyone around him as my people.

“Even though the court of appeal has given its judgement in our favour, I do not see this as a victory. No winner, no loser, we are all one family and I urge everyone to come together to deliver victory for our party across all levels.
