There was palpable panic today in Ilorin among business men and women as well as the residents as all the commercial banks in the state capital rejected the old naira notes.
Sobi FM Correspondent who’s went round the city of Ilorin reports that there are long queues in different banks as ATM machines refuse to dispense redesigned currencies.
Speaking in an interview with our Correspondent Toyin Saheed, Mr Folorunsho Abubakar said he has been on the queue for more that six hours and he has not been given any money either old or new.
Another customer, Mr Oluwafemi Olarewaju who expressed his frustration over the development said all the banks have rejected the old money.
Among the banks visited include UBA, Sterling Bank, Heritage Bank, Polaris Bank, Access Bank, while the list amount given by all banks are five thousand naira only.
