The Social Democratic Party SDP candidate for Kwara South Senatorial district Professor Wale Sulaiman, CON, has called for the inclusion of traditional institutions in nation building and development of the country.

Professor Sulaiman made the call while speaking with Sobi FM in Oro Irepodun local government area of the state after he was conferred as the Bobagunwa and his wife Patricia Sulaiman as Yeye Bobagunwa by the Oloro of Oro His Royal Majesty Oba AbdulRafiu Olaniyi Ajiboye.

The world renowned Neuro-surgeon said the government should give traditional institutions some level of authority like it was in the colonial era will hasten the development of the country.

“Traditional Institutions are closer to the grassroots and I believe if the government gives more responsibility I the affairs of the country, some issues affecting us will be a thing if the past,” he said.

Professor Sulaiman revealed that he is in politics to contribute his quota and better the lot of his people based on his track record, saying if given the opportunity to represent Kwara South in the National Assembly he will bring dividend of democracy to the district.

“As you all know we came into politics to right the wrongs of the past, politics have been left for so long in the hands of people that are only concerned about there selves only, such thing have been affecting the development of our district,” he said.

The SDP candidates who urged people of Kwara south to get their PVC’s also enjoin his supporters not to relent in spreading the message of hope for the support of the party across the district.
