Ram Sellers in Ilorin has blamed the high rate of insecurity in the country as the major cause of the scarcity and high cost of rams this year.
Our correspondent who went round the Ilorin metropolise reports that the ram sellers at Mandate Market and Adeta Round about says the poor state of security, especially in the North, where most of the animals are sourced from, prevented many people from partaking in the business this year.
A merchant at the Mandate market Hassan Esinrogunjo from lamented that many of their members have been victims of attack on the road by bandits and kidnappers. Also speaking, Muritala Tanbaruku attributed the low turn out of people to the current state of economy in the country.
Salman Olugbo and Mallam Kehinde from Adeta Round about says high cost of diesel also contributed to the high price of rams.
