In continuation of his quest towards boosting the service of the primary health care centres in his constituency, the Senator representing Kwara Central and Chairman, Senate Committee on Health, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has again facilitated medical items worth millions of Naira to Oke-oyi Primary Health Center.

The donation is part of the ongoing 2022 Capital Projects being implemented through the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

Speaking through his media aide, Bolaji Aladie, during the delivery of the items to the facility Dr. Oloriegbe, stated that the intervention is in fulfilment of his electoral promises to the residents of the community while canvassing for their votes about four years ago.

He pointed that the intervention is imperative in the quest to expand access to quality and affordable healthcare services and as well reduce pressure on general hospitals.

According to him “The Primary Health Care’s are the closest health facilities to the people and it becomes imperative for us to strengthen them to nip at the bud, the health challenges that can boomerang and made us lose lives which can be saved through first responder facilities of this nature.

“Besides, there is a nexus between the general wellness of the people and the productivity outputs we can have from their society, thus, we have to ensure that our people at the grassroots are not lacking quality healthcare services which can only be obtained through a well-equipped health facility and resourceful, motivated, and committed medical staff.

“We, therefore, wish to use this medium to appeal to the management and the community members to make judicious utilisation of these items for the purpose for which they were meant,” he said.

In her reaction, the officer-in-charge of the facility, Mrs Is’haq Hafsat who lauded the lawmaker for his uncommon gesture, expressing that the items will serve as great motivation for them as well as improve their patronage.

Speaking on behalf of the community residents, Architect Alao Olota commended Sen. Oloriegbe for making his admirers proud by keeping to his words whilst appreciating him for several sustainable interventions he had done to the community which include the proposed Federal College of Agriculture, Oke-Oyi.

Amongst the stakeholders who graced the items’ handing over brief ceremony was the Baale of Oke-Oyi, Mallam Mohammed Soliu Odedeyi, the Magaji Onikoyi, Mallam Ishaq Onikoyi, the APC Chairman Oke-Oyi/Oke-Ose/Alalubosa ward Mallam Yusuf Aloba, the chairman of the Oke-Oyi Joint Community Development Associations, Mallam Jimoh Yewande and others who took turns to shower encomiums on the Senator for his developmental representation.

Some of the items handed over are Hospital Beds, mattresses, examination couches, cupboards, File Cabinets, Baby Cots, delivery couches, stretchers as well as Malaria RDT Kits.
