A twelve year old boy, Yusuf Abubakar has died from gunshot wounds after his elder brother tested the efficacy of a newly procured gunshot protective charm in Kaiama local government area of the state.
A statement by the Kwara State Police command spokesperson Okasanmi Ajayi made available to newsmen today in Ilorin said a report was received at Kaiama police station on Sunday about the killing of 12 years old Yusuf Abubakar by his elder brother, Abubakar Abubakar.
According to Ajayi both boys are children of one Abubakar Abubakar a hunter in Dutse Gogo town in Kaiama.
The spokesman explained that the incident occurred during the process of testing the efficacy of a newly procured gunshot protective charm by the brothers.
Ajayi explained that after the children had fortified themselves with the charm, the elder son brought his father’s dane gun and shot his younger sibling, adding that the charm failed and the 12year old Yusuf Abubakar died on the spot.
