The Director of Corporate Affairs at the University of Ilorin, Kunle Akogun, has called on the sons and daughters of Igbomina land to uphold the values encapsulated in the Igbomina National Anthem in their daily lives.
Mr. Akogun made this call during the 2024 Igbomina Day event, organized by the Igbomina National Students Union, University of Ilorin Chapter. As the Grand Patron of the Union, he emphasized that Igbomina people are renowned for their hard work, selflessness, integrity, incorruptibility, and dedication to community service.
He urged the students to continue to represent Igbomina values wherever they are and to serve as exemplary figures of good upbringing, particularly as students of the University of Ilorin.
In his remarks, Dr. Simeon Tayo Arinde, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Performing Arts at the University of Ilorin, encouraged the students to honor the legacy of their Igbomina ancestors by avoiding negative behaviors both on and off campus.
Dr. Arinde advised the students to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors and strive to make positive contributions to the university’s history.
