The Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to visit Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, this Saturday to attend the 30th anniversary celebration of Ghalib Chambers, the law office of Mallam (Professor) Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN.
According to a statement signed by Kunle Akogun on behalf of the organising committee and made available to newsmen in Ilorin over the weekend, the event will be held at the Banquet Hall, Ilorin, and will feature a special lecture titled “Presidential or Parliamentary System of Government: Where is the Convergence?”
The lecture will be delivered by the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN.
Also expected at the occasion are the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, and the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who will serve as the host.
The Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, will be the Royal Host.
Thil event not only celebrates the achievements of Ghalib Chambers over the past three decades but also brings together prominent figures in law and governance to discuss pivotal issues facing the nation’s political structure.
Other notable programs lined up for the celebration include a novelty football match between Ghalib Chambers and the Kwara NUJ team on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin, followed by a Dinner and Award Night on Friday, May 31, 2024.
