The Gubernatorial candidate of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, in Kwara state, Alhaji Yakubu Gobiri, has promised to reawaken the Local Government administration in the state if elected governor of the state in the March 11 elections.

Gobiri made this promise while featuring on Sobi FM flagship programme “Oro Ilu”, earlier this morning.

The Gubernatorial candidate was accompanied by his running mate, Hon. Bolujoko George, chairman of the party, chief Dele Ogunbayo JP, among others also promised the youth basic education and scholarship inorder to develop the human capital of the state.

He said, the present administration in the state has completely eliminated the functionalities of Local Government in the state, which the governor has turned to an appendage of his office.

He advised the people of Kwara State to refrain from selling their votes all in the name a carefully designed deceit by the state government, but rather vote for capable individuals with track records of governance.

Speaking on the reason for his defection from APC to YPP, he said, he joined the queue to wage war (Otoge) against the administration of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP with the intent of making the state more liveable for the common men.

He however, lamented that, it is quite unfortunate to see the Administration for which the war was waged harnessing the affairs of the state with reckless abandon.

Gobir noted that, the reason for his coming out to canvass for vote alongside his counterparts in 2019 was to unveil the fact that Kwara has intelligent people who can righteously harness the affairs of the state indiscriminately, but the current administration has failed the people
