The Kwara State Government and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Kwara State Wing is set to hold this year’s edition of the Annual World Teachers Day and Award Ceremony under the theme: Transformation of Education Begins with Teachers.
In a statement by the State Secretary of the Union, Comrade Moni Mike Modesty and copies made available to newsmen today in Ilorin.
The event which will be held on Wednesday October 5, 2022 at the Banquet Hall, opposite Government House, Ilorin, will have the Governor of the State, His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq as the Special Guest of Honour and Chief Host.
It added that the Keynote Address will be delivered by Professor Billy Olajide of the Department of the Arts Education, University of Ilorin, while the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Kemi Adeosun will be the host and theChairman of the Union in Kwara State, Comrade Oyewo Bashir Ayinde is the Co-Host.
The Statement further enjoined invited Teachers, Awardees and other Guests expected at the ceremony to be seated not later than 8:45am on that day.
