The Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari to leads a procession in the city of Ilorin as the entire people of the Emirate join him for the 2023 Ilorin Emirate Durbar.

Sobi FM Correspondent reports that the Emir left the palace around 10:45 am in company of the several dignitaries and later joined by Kwara state governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak and Matawali of Ilorin, Doctor Alimi Abdulrazaq at Surulere for the cultural procession to the palace.

The Chairman of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee, Engineer Suleiman Alapansanpa in his speech said the Durbar is proclaiming its uniqueness compared with other emirates.

Alapansanpa while congratulating the governor for becoming the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum also seek his support for the Durbar festival.

Ilorin Emirate Durbar is an annual event that takes place on the second day of Eid-l-Adha (Ileya Festival), at the forecourt of the Emir.

It is a symbol of prestige and royalty that showcases the spectacular horse racing skills of Ilorin Emirate indigenes.  

Indigenes Praises Emir for Successful Hosting Durbar Festival

The entire people of sons Emirate have congratulated the Emir of Ilorin Doctor Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari and the entire sons of Ilorin emirate for the successful hosting of the 2023 Ilorin Emirate Durbar festival.

Sobi FM Correspondent, who spoke to some of the personalities present at the Emir’s palace for the Durbar festival expressed their satisfaction and also revealed the importance of the festival.

The Grand Kadi of Kwara State, Justice Abdulateef Kamaldeen appreciated the God for the successful programme of the festival and pray for continued peace in the state.

Alao speaking, the Mogaji Nda of Ilorin, Doctor Saliu Woru Mohammed stated the importance and advantages of the festival, which includes promotion of unity, boosting of the economy and promotion of the social cultural heritage of the culture.

Also speaking, the Kwara State marketers Association through the Iyaloja of Oja Oba, Alhaja Mariam Elefun said the festival brings togetherness between the people of the Emirate.

Alhaja Mero Olobi, who congratulated the Emir of Ilorin for the success of the festival also urged the entire indigenes of the emirates to always participate in the annual durbar festival for the promotion of Ilorin social cultural heritage.
