The Igbomina Professionals Association (IPA) has expressed dismay at the latest upsurge in security breaches in parts of Igbomina land with serial abductions and murders of innocent citizens by yet to be apprehended criminals.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the National Publicity Secretary,
Igbomina Professionals Association
Kunle Akogun in reaction to last weekend’s abduction of three people and killing of another person at Iwo in Isin Local Government Area of the state.

The statement quoted the President of the Association, Barrister Bayo Atoyebi, who lamented the new wave of kidnappings and killings, saying that the activities of the bandits are serious cause for concern.

Barrister Atoyebi called for concerted efforts of the government, security operatives, traditional and religious leaders as well as the generality of the people to tackle these issues of insecurity in an hitherto peaceful and well secured area.

He urged the state Commissioner of Police to, as a matter of long term measure, deploy special anti-crime forces to all nooks and crannies of Igbominaland to ensure adequate security of lives and properties of the inhabitants.

In the interim, Barrister Atoyebi appealed to the security agencies to comb the forests of Igbominaland to flush out all the undesirable elements lurking around there.

While sympathising with the families of the victims of the latest wave of abduction, Barrister Atoyebi called on the people to be security conscious at all times by promptly alerting security agencies whenever they sight any suspicious movements by unfamiliar persons around their communities.

It would be recalled that unknown gunmen invaded a petrol station in Iwo- Isin last Friday and abducted three persons including a Pastor and killed another person who was said to be inside his room apparently watching the kidnap incident.
