The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has donated Medical Equipment to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospitals (UITH) as part of it effort to adequately equipped Public Health Institutions in the Country.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. isiak Oloyede, at the Official Commissioning of Tertiary Health Institutions Hospital Equipment Intervention, in collaboration with Project Cure of the United State of America (USA), today in Ilorin said the board decided to equip twelve tertiary health institutions from the six geo-political zones, where University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) , Kwara State, and the University of Medical Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State was selected from the North-Central.

Oloyede furthered stated that the intervention of the Board in the area of health care delivery is to support the government efforts aimed at addressing the huge medical infrastructural gap, assuring that the board will continue to prune down its expenses to support the major stakeholders through such interventions with N500-billion annually.

Earlier in his welcoming address, The Chief Medical Director University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Dr. Abdullahi Yusuf, commended Jamb for the noble idea, saying the innovation will relive the hospital financially and will also then to provide the necessary the necessary service.

The CMD added that amongst the twelve selected hospital, the teaching hospital is the first to received the donations, however commended the board for their generosity and prayed God continue to support them.
